Ritesh Deshmukh born on December 17th 1978 in Mumbai is a bollywood actor. He is the son of famous Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Ritesh made his Bollywood debut in the movie Tujhe Mari Kasam in 2003 but the movie did not work well at the box office. His second movie was the romantic comedy Out of Control where he played the role of Jaswinder who goes to New York from Punjab to make a name for himself. The movie was a sweet and soft romantic comedy but failed to create its magic on the box office. In 2003, he did the multi starrer brainless comedy Masti opposite Vivek Oberai and Aftab Shivdasani. The movie became a super hit and with it Ritesh tasted his first success in bollywood. Ritesh got nominated for Filmfare best supporting actor. It was with this movie that he got recognized as a serious talent. His second movie in the same year was the critically acclaimed Bardaasht. The movie was not a box office success but he won rave reviews for his act in the movie.

In 2005, he starred in another romantic comedy Kya Kool Hain Hum opposite Tushar Kapoor and Neha Dhupia. The movie went on to become a hit at the box office and with it Ritesh got his second success in main stream bollywood. In 2005, he starred in the Abhishek Bachan and Priyanka Chopra starrer Bluffmaster. The movie was a successful venture and Ritesh was once again singled out for his amazing comic timing and natural acting.

In 2006, he starred in four different movies i.e. Apna Sapna Money Money, Darna Zaroori hai, Malamaal Weekly and Fight Club. Unfortunately for him none of the movies turned out to be hits. It was not until 2007, when he got his first blockbuster movie under his belt. His romantic comedy Heyy baby opposite Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan and Vidya Balan became a super hit and it cemented him as one of the best comic actors of modern times. His next movie in 2007 was again a multi starrer comedy Dhamal opposite Sunjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jafri. The movie turned out to be another successful venture at the box office for Ritesh.
In 2009, he did movies like Do Knot Disturb, Aladin and kal Kisnay Dekha which all bombed at the box office. In 2010, he did a serious role in the highly acclaimed movie Rann directed by Ram Gopal Verma opposite Amitabh Bachan. With this movie Ritesh proved his versatility as an actor and broke the notion that he was only suited to comic roles.

In 2010, he starred in Sajid Khan’s second movie Houseful opposite Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Deepika. The movie was another smash hit comedy and Ritesh was once again hailed for his comic sense. In 2011 so far he has worked in Double Dhamal which was a sequel to Dhamal. The movie is till date one of the biggest hits of the year. His next assignments in 2012 include Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum which is a sequel to Kyaa Kool Hain Hum and Housefull 2 which is a sequel to Houseful.
Ritesh has also hosted the IIFA awards four times from 2008 to 2011 alongside Lara Dutta and Boman Irani.
