Saif Ali Khan was born on 16th August 1970.  He is an Indian actor and film producer. He was born in a Muslim family to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi who is a former Indian cricket and a Nawab of Pataudi. Saif Ali Khan’s mother is famous yesteryear actress Sharmila Tagore. Actress Soha Ali Khan is his sister and he has another sister named Saba Ali Khan. He studied at Lawrence School Sanawar but then later studied at Lockers Park School Hertfordshire.

Saif Ali Khan made his acting debut in the 1992 movie Parampara. In 1993, he acted in his second movie called Ashiq Awara for which he received Filmfare award for the best debut Male. In the year 1994 that changed Saif’s fortunes as his first movie Yeh Dillagi opposite Akshay Kumar and Kajol became a super hit and Saif Ali Khan was a lot of praise for his acting from all corners. His song Ole Ole became a rage amongst the youngsters. His second movie of the year which again saw him paired alongside Akshay Kumar was the super hit action movie Main Khiladi Tu Anari.  After back to back success Saif became an overnight star and shot to fame for his Chocolate hero looks, long hair and dancing.

After that Saif Ali Khan worked in numerous movies like Pehchaan, Imtihaan, Surakshaa, Bambai ka Babu, Tu Chor mein Sipahi, Hameshan and many more but except for Kachche Dhaage, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Kya Kehna all his movies flopped badly at the box office. After his movies flopped one after the other he disappeared for a short while.

Saif Ali Khan made a blistering comeback with Farhan Akther’s directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai. The movie in which he was paired opposite Amir Khan, Preity Zinta and Akshay Khanna turned out to be a smash hit and Saif won the Filmfare award for Best performance in a comic role. The movie turned out to the life line Saif Ali Khan wanted and it proved to be a turning point in his Career. In 2003, Saif Ali Khan starred in Karan Johar’s home production Kal Ho Na ho opposite Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta. The movie turned out to be another blockbuster and became the 2nd highest grosser of the year. Saif Ali Khan won a lot of praise from the Critics. He won the Filmfare Award for the best supporting actor and also the Filmfare award for Look of the year. Slowly but surely Saif had turned a corner and was now considered one the leading actors of the industry.

The only thing lacking was a solo hit movie and he got just that when he starred in Aditya Chopra produced Hum Tum that was directed by Kunal Kohli. The movie went on to become a smash hit and with it Saif Ali Khan got his first solo hit which enabled him to win the Filmfare award for the Best performance in a comic role. He won more Critical acclaim in his next venture Parineeta and with it Saif established himself as one of the leading hero’s of the industry.

In 2006, he won another award this time the Filmfare Award for the best performance in a negative role in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Omkara. More success followed in the shape of Salam Namaste, Ta Ra Rum Pum, and race. In 2008, his first movie as a producer Love Aaj Kal became another Smash hit. His next upcoming movie is another home production titled Agent Vinod opposite Kareena Kapoor.

Saif Ali khan married former actress Amrita Singh in October 1991. They were married for 13 years but then got divorced in 2004. He has a daughter and a son from her. He is currently dating Bollywood super star Kareena Kapoor.
