Biography: The son of a well known Hindi poet, Amitabh Bachchan was a well educated young man before he stepped into filmdom. His mother had always wanted him to become an actor, though never did she imagine that one day her son would rose on to become the biggest name in Bollywood that is the Big B. During the Seventies, Amitabh Bachchan delivered blockbusters after blockbusters and by the end of that decade, had become a “one-man-industry.” The iconic star had a brush with death during shooting in 1982, quit films for a while to take up politics alongside his longtime friend Rajiv Gandhi. Three years later he came to filmdom but could never achieve the success he was associated with during the Seventies. Lately, he has been working hard for a revival, with some success too. But no doubt, the septuagenarian can never be the Angry Young Man again.
