 profile All with her graceful and charming personality Amish Patel stormed into bollywood by giving a huge hit in her debut “Kaho Na Piyaar Hay”. She was born on 9th of June in Mumbai, India. Her parents Amit Patel and Asha Patel welcomed their first child who was going to get into limelight afterwards when she would grow up. She is the grand daughter of famous politician as well as lawyer, Rajni Patel. Amesha got her schooling from Cathederal and John Connon high school. Being an eminent student she was the head girl at her school. She went on for higher studies and studied economics from U.S at Tuft University, Massachusetts.

She stepped in the field of acting by working in some plays for Satyadev Dubey’s theater group, when she returned after the completion of her studies. Besides she modeled for various prestigious brands like, Lux, Fair & Lovely, Fem, Cadburys Jai Lime, Bajaj Sevashram. The major turning point of her life was when Rakesh Roshan, film producer and actor, who was family friend of Patels, offered her to work in his upcoming film, “Kaho Na Piyaar Hay”. That film was a debut for Hrithik Roshan too. The film was released in 2000 and was a huge super hit blockbuster movie. Amisha became a celebrity overnight after this blockbuster. Next she signed up a Telugu film titled “Badri” that went super hit again grossing record business at the box office. In 2001, she worked in “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” opposite Sunny Deaol, and her superb performance in this film was strongly acknowledged everywhere. She played a Muslim girl “Sakeena” in the movie. The story of the film was based on riots in the time of separation, in 1947. These two movies brought up four filmfare awards for Amisha on her great performance. In 2002, “Aap Mujhe Achey Lagne Lage” was released, starring Amisha Patel with Hrithik Roshan once again. Unfortunately that film was flopped. In the same year she gave a super hit “Humraaz” that boosted up her career again and proved her an eminent actress. In her other famous movies “udhiya Geethai was realased in 2003, while in 2004 “Naani” was released. “Elaan”, “Mangal Panday: The Rising” and Narasimhudu were released in 2005. Then in 2006 “Teesri Aankh” and “Aap Ki Khatir” were significantly noticed in box office.

She got a positive breakthrough with the release of “Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd” in 2007, a romantic comedy. In the same year “Bhool Bhulaiyyan” was another hit starring her with Akshay Kumar.

Her brother Ashmit Patel also joined the world of showbiz after his sister. Amisha’s conflicts with her family were publicized much when she sought for legal aid against her father for mismanagement of her bank accounts and property.

A few critics have listed her amongst mediocre actresses. Yet she rules over millions of heartbeats in India.

She had been dating the famous director, Vikram Bhatt, who is twice of her age but then they broke up after five years of their affair. Now a day, she is dating a business man from London named Kanav Puri.
