Ayesha Takia Azmi popularly known as Ayesha Takia was born on 10th April 1986 in Mumbai India. She is an Indian film actress who has also worked in the South Indian film industry. She has Gujrati father and a half British mother. She has been a child artist, and started doing television assignments from the tender age of four years.

She was fifteen years old when she appeared in a music video of Falguni Pathak which was titled Meri Chunari Udd Udd Jaye; she then appeared in another music video called Shake it Daddy in which she got noticed by the people of the film industry.

Her first breakthrough in bollywood was through the movie Taarzan: The Wonder Car. He originally signed for Socha Na Tha as her first movie, but due to it getting delayed, Taarzan release first. She was an instant success as she won the Filmfare award for Best female Debut for her movie Taarzan: The Wonder Car. After the success of her first two movies her acting career took a slight dip as she featured in box office failures like Home Delivery opposite Vivek Oberai, Shadi se Pehle with Akshay Khana, Shadi No 1 with Fardeen Khan & Dil Maange More with Shahid Kapoor. Although these movies were rejected at the box office, Ayesha always got a positive response for her acting skills.

Ayesha Takia got her first real meaniful role in Nagesh Kuknoor’s movie Dor in 2006, she won critical acclaim for her portrayal of house wife of a worker in Saudi Arabia. She won the Star Screen and Zee Cine Critics Award for Best Actress for Dor. Apart from Dor she was seen in Yun hota Toh Kya hota in the year 2006 which was Naseeruddin Shah’s first directorial Venture based on the 9-11 incident. After having worked with the veteran actor Ayesha told the media that she feels very lucky to be a sharing screen shape with such a huge legendary actor.

Year 2007 wasn’t as fruitful for Ayesha as the previous one as all four of her releases i.e. Fool and Final, Cash, Blood Brothers and No Smoking bombed at the box office without creating any impact. The following year 2008 also proved no good as she had only two releases and both the movies sank at the box office. In year 2009 she did her first negative role in the movie 8 x 10 Tasveer opposite Akshay Kumar. The year ended on an all time high for her as her movie wanted staring Salman Khan in the lead role was a super hit and it emerged as the one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

Ayesha Takia wedded her long term boy friend and childhood sweetheart Farhan Azmi who is a restaurateur whose father is a well known politician, on 1st March 2009. Ayesha Takia has gone on record to say that when is not working she likes to spend most of her time with her family. She also stated that she loves long drives, music, book reading and rebonding with old friends. Ayesha Takia is known for having a no nonsense attitude when it comes to doing intimate scenes and till date she has not taken part in intimate scene in any of her movies. She was slated to be the main lead opposite Udday Chopra in the 2005 movie Neal N Nikki, but she refused to do the movie because it required her to do a bold intimate scene with her co-star. In the year 2006 she was positioned amid India’s top ten most desirable females.
