Bhumika Chawla is a sensuous Indian actress. She is known by the nickname “Gudiya”. She is 5.3 inches tall and has a light brown eye color. Belonging to a Punjabi family, Bhumika was born on 21st august 1978 in delhi, India. Her father name is Colonel A.S who was a former Army officer and served Indian Army for a long time. Her mother’s name is Bali Chawla. Her brother is also an army officer. She took her early education from New Delhi. In 1997, after completing her schooling her family shifted to Mumbai and from there she completed the rest of her education. On 21st October 2007 she tied the knot of marriage with her boyfriend Bharat Thakur, whom she was dating from five years. Bharat Thakur was her Yoga instructor. Her marriage took place t Devlali, nashik in a Gurdwara.

She started her showbiz career after shifting to Mumbai. Before entering in the film industry, she worked in various commercials and Tv shows. She made her first appearance in a Zee Tv serial “Hip Hip Hurray”. She worked in different commercials that include Bru Coffee and Shanti Amla Hair oil. She became the center of attention of various directors by her remarkable performances in different shows and advertisements. She started being approached for different movies.

In year 2000, Bhoomika started off with her first telugu film Yuvakudu. Her co star in the film was Sumnath. Thereafter she appeared in almost thirty films in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Bhojpuri Punjabi. In 2001 she comes up with another movie “Kushi” in which she worked with Pawan Kalyan. The movie achieved a big success on box office. After her concurrent success in Telugu films she decided to act in several other Telugu films. In 2003, she was again succeeded to give two more big hit Telugu films, one was Okkadu in which she worked with Mahesh Babu and the other was Simdhari in which she appeared opposite to Jr NTR. Simultaneously Bhoomika made her appearance in Tamil Film Industry as well. In 2001 she was casted in one of Tamils film “Badri”. The main leading male role was performed by Vijay. Her work was appreciated by the public a lot and she decided to work in another Tamil film. She performed a lead role in Roja Kootam which was released in 2002.

After her success in Tamil film industry and gaining an immense popularity, Bhoomika headed towards Bollywood film industry. In 2003 she made her first debut film Tere naam. She had the opportunity to work with the super hero Salman Khan in this movie. The film was very successful that year and generated so much revenue in the Box office. It was Bhoomikas great success and she received many positive responses and nominations. In 2004 she was again casted in a film Run which was a remake of a Tamil based film. In the same year she worked with Salman Khan in another movie Dil Nay Jise Apna Kahaa. The film performed well on the box office. In 2005 she worked in another film Silsilay and Dil Jo Bhi Kahey in which she got the opportunity to work with the legendary Amitabh Bachan.

In 2004, she came back to Telugu film industry and did “Naa Autograph” and “Jai Chiranjeeva”. In Jai Chiranjeeva she worked with Sameera Reddy and Chiranjeevi.
She has won several awards that include Best Debut at Zee Cine Awards, Nandi Award for Best actress, Cinema Jury Award for best actress, Vamsee Award for best actress, CineMAA Jury award for best actress.
