Isha Kopikar is part of the Konkani-speaking Mangalorean family. Born on 19th September 1976 in Mumbai, she completed her graduation in Life Sciences from Ruia College. This Konkani speaking actress participated in the 1995 Miss India Contest and was awarded the crown of Miss Talents. Even in junior college, Isha showed her versatility by modeling with Gautam Rajyadhaksa.

After getting an award in 1995, Isha started her journey on the silver screen. She initiated this by acting as the lead heroine in two Tamil movies, Kaadhal Kavidai and En Swasa Katre. Both these movies came in the same year that is 1998. Isha achieved a large amount of positive feedback for her acting in these movies. In fact, she also won the Filmfare Best Female Debut for the movie Kandhal Kavidai.

Isha is not only a great actress but also a pleasant model. She has done shoots for Camay, Rexone, L’oreal, Tips and Toes, Coke, Synergy, Ponds, Deepam Sarees.

In the bollywood industry, Isha is widely known as the Khallas girl as she appeared on screen by dancing to th song Khallas in Ram Gopal Varmas film Company. She has also done an item number in Rahul, a film by Prakash Jha. Isha is said to have made her debut in the film Fiza, alongside Kareena Kapoor and Hritik Roshan. She also appeared in minor roles in the movie Pyaar Ishq aur Muhabbat and Kharcha Rupaiya. She also appeared in another item number in Sanjay Gupta’s remakr of Kaante “Reservoir Dogs” in the song Ishq Samander.

Her looks, her talents and her persona earned her the stardust award for most exciting new face for her appearance in Khallas. In 2003 and 2004 a large amount of Kopikar films were released. On an average every two month a movie with this dazzling actress was on the box office. However, Kopikar was not able to make a much emphatic appearance on the audience. Her role in the remake of Don 2 marked a step up the ladder in her crumbling career. She acted opposite King Shahrukh Khan. The highest profile film of Kopikar’s career is considered to be Salaam e Ishq, a film by Nikhil Advani. Talking about her present releases, film Shabri which is directed by Lalit Marathe is there. In this movie Kopikar plays the role of a woman gangster.

Kopikar has also been known for her bold choice of roles. From acting as an item girl to a Mumbai gangster,Kopikar has experienced it all in her career. The most talked about role of her career is that of a lesbian in the movie girlfriend, where she acted alongside Amrita Arora and Aashish Chaughry. The film was amongst those of Kopikars that were called to be banned.

With movies being suspended in post-production and cancelled from being released, Kopikar has still survived in the hindi industry through her acting skills. Bold and beautiful as she is, Kopikar served as the judge in Miss Universe 2008 that took place in Vietnam. In addition to that, she also appeared in Indian Idol 2006, served as the judge for Nach Baliyeh 3 and also hosted a wrestling show called 100% De Dhana Dan.

Starting from 1998, Kopikar has 45 films to her credit. These include hindi, telugu and tamil films. Kopikar also changed the spellings of her nme to Eesha Koppikhar after the advice of the renowned numerologist, Niraj Manchanda. She has been married for 2 years to her childhood boyfriend, Rohit Narang.
