Jiah Khan born on 20th February is an Indian actress who was born and raised up in Britain. Her birth name is Nafisa Khan. She spent her childhood in West London Chelsea. Jiah Khan’s father Ali Rizvi is an Indian American while her mother Rabiya Amin is a former Indian film actress. Jiah Khan did her Advance level studies from London in the field of film studies and literature. She also underwent Dramatic Arts studies from New York, but she never completed it.

When Jiah khan was sixteen years old she got the mega offer to work in Mahesh Bhatt’s movie Tumsa Nahin Dekha, but she did not sign because according to her the role was too mature for her age, eventually Dia Mirza took her role opposite Emraan Hasmhi. A few years later she made her bollywood debut in the controversial movie Nishabd opposite Amitabh Bachan directed by Ram Gopal Verma. The movie was inspired by Lolita and American Beauty. Critics gave mixed reviews for the movie, some labeled it a bold new attempt and some out rightly rejected it. Jiah Khan’s debut venture fetched her great reviews and she was hailed for her buoyancy and charm. She got a Filmfare best debut nomination for her performance.

After Nishabd she got the chance to star in another biggie, this time it was Madhu Mantena’s Ghajini opposite maestro Amir Khan and the beauty from south Asin. The movie became a mega blockbuster and Jiah along with others fetched rave reviews for their performance. Jiah played an important role in the movie. After the movie release Jiah revealed that to be given a chance in such a mega movie was the most memorable moment for her, when she first heard of her selection in the movie she couldn’t believe her ears. Jiah also told the media that Amir Khan while talking to her mother said that It was only because of her talent that she was selected in the movie, which Jiah said was the best compliment that she had ever received.

After the super success of Ghajini it was announced that Jiah Khan would be seen opposite Shahid Khan in UTV’S Chance Pe Dance, she later she was replaced by Genelia D’souza. There are rumors that Jiah even started shooting for the film but the reason for her not doing the movie is not still unknown. As it turned out her next movie that hit the cinema screen’s was Sajid Khan’s Romantic Comedy Housefull in which she played the character of a cheating woman called Devika, she double crosses her better half and runs away with her old boyfriend. This movie too became a mega hit and though Jiah’s role was a very small one, she still benefitted from it.

Jiah Khan in an interview with Indian website revealed that her father Ali Rizvi Khan left her mother when she was three years old. She said “I attach very little importance to my father”. She also said that she knows where her father resides but both her father and Jiah herself never bothered to meet each other. Jiah also told the website that she doesn’t have any memories of her father, or a clue what he looks like, but it still bothers to read his name or her passport every time she opens it. She also revealed that she has two younger sisters from her step father, she also left her mother and his two daughters. She thinks that every father who deserts his daughters deserves to be shot. In this candid interview she also revealed that because of her step dad they went homeless and they had to live inside fast food chain McDonalds.
