Malika Sherawat is one of the hottest and sexiest icons of bollywood. She is famous for her onscreen bold attitude. She was born on 24thOctober in Rohtak, Haryana. The year in which she was born is unknown. She belongs to the leading Jat philanthropist family of Seth Chhaju Ram. Earlier she was known by the name of Reema lamba, but after entering in the film industry she changed her name to Malika Sherawat. The reason behind this is to avoid the confusion, as there were many actresses already present in the industry with the same name.  Sherawat is the name of her mother, which she adopted as her surname because of the immense support her mother has provided. Earlier her family didn’t accept the choice of her profession and restrained, but now the issue has been reconsolidated between malaika and sherawats.

Malaika started his academic career from Delhi Public School located on Mathura Road. She did graduation in philosophy from Delhi University, Miranda House. There is not much information available about her past. It is said that in 2000 she got married to Captain Karan Singh Gill, Jet Airways Pilot. But her marital life remains short lived and got divorce in 2001.

Malaika Sharawat started her professional career as a model. She worked in various commercials where she got the opportunity to perform with super stars Amitabh bachan and King Khan. She performed for various famous brands that include BPL and Santro.  Malaika made her debut in music videos also by appearing in Nirmal Pandeys song “Maar Daala” and Surjit Bindrakhias “Lak Tunoo”.

Malaika has a long list of movies in which she played different characters. She has made her fame in Bollywood as well as Holywood movies. She entered in the film industry as Reema Lamba,made a guest appearance in the film “Jeena Sirf Mere Liyey”.In 2003 she gained an immense popularity with her film “khwahish” that made a good business on the box office.In 2004 she was approached for the main role of heroine in the film “Murder”. Although the story line of the film was copied from Hollywood’s “Unfaithful” but it was greatly appreciated by the public. She impressed the public by her sexy and seductive character in the film.In 2006 she worked in “Pyar kay side effects” with Rahul Bose where her work was truly appreciated by the public.The actress made a special appearance in Mani Ratnams film Guru.She was starred in a special item song “Mayya Mayya” that gained an immense popularity.Himesh Reshammiyas “Aap ka Saroor”, The Real Love Story are the movies in which she give a guest appearance. It is said that she charged 15 million rupees for her 10 minutes appearance in the film “Real Love Story”. Her film Welcome in 2007 also did well at the box office.

In 2005, she decided to step in the world of Hollywood movies. She signed one of the Chinese movies “The Myth”, in which she performed the character of Indian princess and her co star, was Jackie Chen. To promotes her first international movie she participated in Cannes Film Festival where she gained a lot of fame. In 2007 she also worked in another Hollywood film “Hisss” where her costar was Irfan khan and is directed by Jennifer Lynch. The actress promoted her movie in Cannes Film Festival by performing with live snakes in 2010.She also work in a comedy film “Politics of Love “directed by William Dear.

 Malaika Sherawat won many awards in this profession. She was nominated for the best actress in Zee Cine Awards for her super hit film Murder. In 2008 Miss Sherawat won Renaissance artist award in 16th Annual Diversity Awards that were held in California.
