Payal Rohatgi is an Indian female actor who works in Bollywood. She is a model too who has worked for many international and national brands. Payal was born on November 9 in Hyderabad, to Veena Rohatgi and Shashank Rohatgi. Gaurav Rohatgi is her brother. Her parents belonged to a middle class. However, she was brought up in Ahmed Abad. She is a computer engineer by profession from LD College of Engineering.

Payal Rohatgi’s modeling career started with Nescafe, Amul and Nirma brands. However, it was a chocolate advertisement, which gave her attention of silver screen gurus. She had also started working in music videos by this time. She worked with Kay Kay, Indipop and Silk Route rock brands. She has also worked with Virender Sehwag cricketer in a household Lal Dantmangan advertisement. She has worked in ads with Amitabh Bachan. Pradeep Sarkar directed most of her ad films.

She was a favorite participant in 2002 Femina Miss India competition. This year brought her early glory, when she won Miss Tourism World award in South America. She started working in Bollywood films in the same year 2002. After starting work in the Indian films, she has reduced her work in modeling line.

Payal’s debut film was Yeh Kia ho Reha Hey? Most critics labeled this film as a remake of Hollywood film American Pie. She appeared in Plan and Police Force in year 2003. While in year 2004, Rakht was released featuring Payal  Rohatgi.

Year 2006 brought her further glory when she worked with Kareena Kanpoor and Shahid Kapoor in 36 China Town. She played as an inyem girl in Corporate in July 2006. She earned critical acclaim of many for her role in Corporate. She paired with Arbaz Khan in Dhol  in a 2nd lead role in year 2007. This movie was directed by Priyadarshan and Percept Picture Company had produced it.

She worked in a minor role in Ugly aur Pagli in 2008. Later same year, she appeared in Dil Kabaddi  opposite Irfan Khan. She performed the character of an instructor of aerobics in Dil Kabaddi. She is also appearing in an under production film 30 Takka. Boman Irani will also feature in the film. She is a versatile actor who has worked on stage drams in English as well as local languages.

Payal has appeared in two reality TV shows; Bigg Boss and Khatron Kay Khilari. The former show raised significant number of controversies due to her closeness with Rahul Mahajan. But she refuted the criticism and declared him a friend from her teenage. However, she split later on and told the media that physical and verbal abuses by Rahul were the main reasons of their splitting. She also worked in comedy program Comedy Circus- Chinchpokli to Chinain year 2009. She performed in this comedy show as a celebrity. The show was telecasted on Sony TV network.

She played a role in Raaz Pichle janam ka  in 2010 on NDTV Imagine show.
She participated as a contestant in Zor ka Jhatka in 2011. She is rumored to have participated in world famous reality show Survivor India. The show is scheduled to be telecasted in October 2011.

Apart from rahul, she is said to have dated Herschelle Gibbs, a South African cricketer. Having worked in almost all genre of screen, she is also a famous philanthropist. She is an active member of  Jeevan Dharain, a Mumbai based NGO. She is also known for her social work against drug and alcohol and works for their rehabilitation. Payal Rohatgi has earned an award for excellence in year 2010 by ICAS.
