The life of Shilpa Shetty is the best example for this. Born in Mangalore, Karnataka, India on June 8th, 1975, this 36 year old actress has seen many things in her life. For this reason, she has been declared award winning on many occasions, while on the other hand, she was also held responsible for many controversies in India. She stood firm to her ambition and her profession, and provided best of her acting. Her parents are Sunanda Shetty and Surendra Shetty who are the CEO of Pharmaceutical company. Shilpa Shetty has learned many languages and she can speak them quiet fluently. Among these include English, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Guajarati, basic French and Urdu. Her schooling happened in Mumbai where she went in St. Anthony Girls’ High School. Then she went to Podar College which is present in Matunga. She was also quite prominent in the extracurricular activities, and the examples of these include the black belt which she gained in Karate, and she is the great dancer too.
Her husband name is Raj Kundra, and with the height of 5’8.5” she is declared to be the tallest actress and film star in India. Her sister name is Shamita Shetty who also works in the films. Shilpa Shetty had worked in more than 40 movies, and all of them are not only in Hindi, but they are also in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil. Before commencing the career in film industry, Shilpa Shetty worked as the model in 1991 for brand “Limca.” The very first debut film for Shilpa Shetty was “Baazigar” which was released in 1993. That movie was the super hit in India, and it opened the doors of glamour and fame wide for her. In this movie, other cast included the Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. Later, she appeared in the movie namely “Aag” which was released in 1994, and for the first time, she had a leading role in it. The very same year she appeared in the movie namely “Main Khiladi Tu Anari” with Akshay Kumar. In later years, Shilpa Shetty appeared in many movies. Some movies were a great success, while the other ones were not that good. However, Shilpa Shetty was seemed to climb the stairs of fame and glory all the way to the top.
In later years, Shilpa Shetty worked in many movies including: “Gambler, Chhote Sarkar, Dus, Himmat, Insaaf, Auzaar, Veedeva Dandi Babu, Aakrosh, Shool, Jaanwar, Azad, Kushi, Dhadkan, Tarkieb, Preethsod Thappa, Maduve Agona Baa, Karz, Hathyar, Junoon, Ondagona Baa, Fareb, Khamosh: Khauff ki raat, Life In A…Metro, The Desire.” All of these movies were great and brought fame to her. Not only there was the great diversity and versatility in the roles played by Shilpa Shetty, but she also performed quite well in them. Looking at the list of the award nomination and awards winning, it is quite long. Shilpa Shetty has been nominated for the different awards and won since the beginning of her career including the Filmfare awards, Star Screen awards, Zee Cine Awards, IIFA awards, Bollywood Movie Awards, and Silver Star Awards. She has been nominated for 18 awards, and won 10 awards among them. She has also received Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award in 2007. Her life is also filled with many controversies. That included the links with Mafia, Obscenity charges, Celebrity Big Brother Racism Controversy and Richard Gere Kissing incident. All of these controversies were taken on the national level, in some of them; she was threatened with her life for it along with banning of her movies. In 2007, she worked in the Celebrity Big Brother 2007, which brought the great fame to her career and it started greatly for her.
