Long ago, it was thought that the people who have the good background in showbiz will always come forward and make their career. However, this is changing now. We have the examples of the actresses in the Indian film industry who have excelled in the other field before opting for the showbiz as their career. Among these names, the name of Tulip Joshi is quite famous. Before coming to the field of showbiz, Tulip Joshi has perfected herself in the field of sports. Hence, this became the great factor for her to introduction as an actress in the Indian film industry. Born in Mumbai, India, Tulip Joshi date of birth is September 11, 1979. Her father is from India and Gujarati by ancestry, while her mother is Lebanese-Armenian. Hence, she shares both ancestries. She was brought up in Mumbai and attended her schooling years in Mumbai. Her first school was Jamnabai Narsee School. Then she went to Mithibai College in Mumbai where she chose the major in Food science and chemistry.
Tulip Joshi is very fond of sports. She participated in the athletics, where she went to play it on the national level. As she has the beautiful face, she entered in the “Femina Miss India” of 2009. She did not make it to the finals; however, she was widely noticed by the advertisement companies and agencies. Hence, her very first appearance on the screen was through working in the advertisement. She participated in the advertisement campaigns of Pepsi, Siyaram, BPL, Ponds, Smirnoff, etc. Along with all these, she also appeared in the
music video which was the tribute to the great singer of Indo-Pak subcontinent-Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Her very first appearance in the film had the story behind it. She was noticed in the wedding of Aditya Chopra, as she was the friend of the bride. She was offered to come later and give the audition. This audition went well, and she was in the cast of the movie in “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai” in 2002. This was the debut of Tulip Joshi as we know it. There were two problems with Tulip Joshi when she started in Showbiz, one being not fluent in Hindi, and other being not having the catchy name in the Indian film industry.
She chose to solve these problems through very brilliant solutions. The solution of the unconventional name by changing her name to conventional one-“Sanjana.” Then she solved the problem of speaking Hindi by practicing it in the studio of Feroze Khan. Hence, both of these things acted positively for her. She appeared in the movie two years later namely “Matrubhoomi and she got the great reviews about it. Later, she came in the movie “Dhoka” which also showed that she is capable of doing the great acting. She did not only appeared in the Hindi movies only, she also appeared in the Telugu movie namely “Villain,” and then again in the Hindi movie namely “Dil Maange More.” Tulip Joshi’s very first Punjabi movie was in 200 namely “Jag Jeondeyan De Mele,” and the very first Kannada film namely “Super.” This Kannada movie was dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. The other movies of Tulip Joshi included: “Superstar, Konchem Koththaga, Runway, Hostel,” etc. all of these movies were the great testaments to her acting. She was also surrounded in the controversy in January 2011 where her opponent claimed that she got the money for doing the work in the movie. However, she did not complete it. Later that role was played by Megha Burman. There is no award or award nomination documented for Tulip Joshi.
