Riding the glamorous wave of Bollywood is quite easily not a task for the weak spirited. Risqué scandals and besmirching rumors abound, the Indian film industry thrives on the lives and tales of all who are part of it. It can be safe to say, thus, that to survive in such an environment one would either have to be ridiculously good looking or just ridiculously intelligent.

It would appear that for both of these criterions, the stars seem to shine awfully bright for one certain individual. Indeed, Yana Synkova pleases both the eye and the mind with her, if you would pardon the cliche, bewitching good looks and sterling savvy. Belonging to the plains of Czechoslovakia, Yana Synkova (more popularly known as Yana Gupta after estranged ex-husband Satyakam Gupta) began her career with modeling at the ripe age of sixteen in the early nineties. Ever since, she has seen names as Calvin Klein, Victoria's Secret and Lakme added to her already much feathered cap. It was her marriage, long since ended, that introduced Yana to the glitz and glam of Bollywood. The rest, as they say, is history. The actress, while technically not Indian per se, has achieved too much in Bollywood not to be considered one of India's finest.
 
However, judging this successful woman based simply on her tryst with Bollywood would be unfair. There is so much more to meet the eye. Learned in the languages, Yana Gupta can speak fluently in five. A social activist, she is a dedicated member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Further, she is also an eager learner of the arts of music and dancing, and is also introducing her very own music album very soon. Fitness plays a major role in her life for she believes in advocating a healthy lifestyle. It can be easily said then that Yana Gupta embodies all what a woman would want to be- smart, beautiful and cultured. Having a flair for spinning the country's take on her countless scandals is perhaps another talent countless envy...but it would be prudent to say that not many are likely to possess the coy logic that requires...or the distracting good looks for that matter. Either way, Yana gupta has paved her way solidly into the heart of India and is unlikely to be moved from there any time soon.
It shows that Gupta is only interested in short scenes and not at all interested in full fledge and central role in any movie.  There is not doubt in it that she knows her weaknesses very well but also her strong points are not hidden from her and she knows how to use them and where.  She also admits that she knows little Hindi which is her drawback when it comes in the acting of Hindi movies.  She is best dancer as she knows her skilful foot movement. She is considered to be the most blunt and careless about what people say about her.  For her, everything is good until and unless she likes it.
