
The great legends are not always hidden; they become one through their hard working and commitment to their ambitions. They are not only working day and night to achieve it, but they have also stretched the boundaries of hard working in order to achieve something that is quite important for them. The legend Zeenat Aman is the great name in the Bollywood. Born in Mumbai (then Bombay), India, her date of birth is November 19th, 1951. Her life of 60 years is bearing witness that she is quite ambitious to her profession and also committed to it. Hence, we can see her life to be divided in several eras which will show how she come to the film industry, left and then come back. It also shows that her life has many ups and downs in it. Her father was a Muslim namely Amanullah Khan, and her mother was a Hindu namely Scinda. Her father was a great writer in the Indian film industry. He was among the writers who wrote the story and script for the movies like “Pakeezah” and “Mughal-e-Azam.” This shows how her family was connected to Indian film industry. Her mother took her to Germany, however, she returned to India in 18 years of age.
She did her schooling years in Mumbai, and studies at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. Then she was gone to Los Angeles, USA to continue her studies at University of Southern California on student aid. When she came back, she wanted to work for “Femina” as the journalist. However, it did not work well for her, and she was then inclined towards modeling. She had done modeling work for the brands like “Taj Mahal.” Later, she had her debut in the 1966 in the Television X Debut. In 1970, she participated for Miss India competition, then to Miss Asia Pacific to win it. She was the runner up in Miss India competition. The very first time she appeared on the film screen was in the movie “Hulchul” which was released in 1971; however, she had the small role in it. Later, she appeared in the movie namely “Hungama” which was also released in 1971, but it was not a big success. Zeenat Aman then appeared again in “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” in 1972, and did the song for R.D. Burman, and this won the hearts of many people. After that, Zeenat Aman appeared in many movies in the coming years, including “Heera Panna, Prem Shastra, Darling Darling, Ishq Ishq Ishq, Warrant, Kalabaaz, etc. there was the mixed response from the audience about these movies. Some were success while the others were not.
From 1978 to this day, Zeenat Aman had worked in quite the number of movies. Some movies had her in the great roles, while the others had the short role. However, all of these movies done were the great ones and will be remembered always. The movies like, “Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Shalimar, Don, Chhaila Babu, Dharam Veer, The Great Gambler, Insaaf Ka Tarazu, Dostana, Ali Baba Aur 40 Chor, Qurbani, Lawaaris, Gawahi, Bhopal express, Chaurahen, Boom, Ugly Aur Pagli, Dunno Y….Na Jaane Kyon, etc were the great hits for Zeenat Aman. All of these movies were released in between 1978 to this day. Some of them were the deal breaker for her, while the others were flop. She has also been nominated for the different awards, and had also won many of them. She was married to Mazhar Khan, who died due to renal failure in 1998, and now Zeenat Aman is living with two sons, and she is occasionally seen on the film screen. However, she is giving her appearances in the awards show.
