The daughter of a lawyer and a model, Christina Ricci made a big splash in her big screen debut at only 10-years-old alongside Cher and Winona Ryder in 1990's Mermaids. But what really catapulted her to superstardom was her somber, yet hysterical, portrayal of Wednesday in The Addams Family one year later. Since then, Ricci has made the comfortable transition from child actor to leading lady while starring in oddball indie films like The Opposite of Sex, Pumpkin and Cracker as well as mainstream fare like Sleepy Hollow and the comic-book adaptation of Speed Racer, starring Emile Hirsch.


1. Although born a California girl, Ricci mostly grew up in Montclair, NJ.
2. Following her parents divorce, she developed a traumatic pattern of self-mutilation.
