The daughter of actor Eric Roberts, Emma grew up on the sets of the films of her superstar Aunt Julia and, at age five, decided to follow in her family's film industry footsteps. To her mother's initial chagrin, Roberts made her acting debut at the age of nine in the film Blow (2001), but came into her own as a true teen idol as the lead character, Addie Singer, in the super-successful Nickelodeon television series Unfabulous. Detouring off her famous family resume, she released her debut album, Unfabulous and More: Emma Roberts in 2005. She returned to the big screen in 2006 co-starring with fellow actress/singer (and idol) Jojo in Aquamarine, which led to her much-coveted starring role as the resourceful, adventurous and timeless teen detective Nancy Drew in 2007.


1. She was featured on MTV's Punk'd with pop singer Teddy Geiger in the show's 2006 season.
2. Because she is not allowed to see the R-rated Blow before she turns 18, director Ted Demme made a tape for her that featured only the scenes she appeared in.
3. Roberts contributed the song "If I Had It My Way" to the soundtrack of Disney's 2005 film Ice Princess.
4. On her father's side, she has Irish, English, Scottish, German and Swedish ancestry.
5. In 2006, Roberts became a spokesmodel for Dooney & Bourke and designed her own Dooney & Bourke handbag which is named after her.
