Sarah Jessica Parker will forever be associated with Carrie Bradshaw and
Sex and the City.
The HBO comedy enjoyed an incredible run, and turned Parker into a
household name. Not that she was doing badly before the cable sitcom.
From her beginnings as a kid actor, Parker quickly transitioned into
scene-stealing character actress, with memorable parts in
Footloose and
L.A. Story, which proved to be her big break. In 1992, she landed her first co-starring role in the rom-com
Honeymoon in Vegas, opposite Nicholas Cage. That was also the year she met her future husband, Matthew Broderick. During
Sex's run, Parker didn't do much on the big screen, but she returned in 2005 with
The Family Stone,
an ensemble comedy with Diane Keaton and Luke Wilson. Her film resume
continues to fill out, with projects booked through 2007, including a
planned prison musical in which she'll play a publicist … and a
big-screen version of
Sex, with all the cast members on board.
