Smartly and elegantly dressed, having attractive features and handsome personality, Alec Baldwin is famous for his looks and his roles in hits like The Cooler, The Departed and Pearl Harbor.  Baldwin is well-known and famous of the four Baldwin brothers emerged on the big screen.

Alexander Rae Baldwin III was born on3rd April, 1958 in Massapequa, New York. He was born in an Irish-American catholic family. He has five siblings and he is the second child of his parents. He has four three brothers Daniel, Stephen and William, and two Sisters Jane and Elizabeth. His all three brothers are associated with the film industry. He and his siblings got their education from Alfred G. Berner School in County of Nassau. He was married to actress Kim Basinger and they had a daughter, Ireland together. The coplue got split in 2000.

Soon after completing his degree from high school, Baldwin joined George Washington University in 1976. He shortly transferred his degree to New York University and opted for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama. He also chose to study acting at the famous Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute where he got Elaine Aiken and Geoffrey Horne as his tutors.

The talent to act runs in his family as all his brothers are recognized actors. All of them have the real passion for drama and all are blessed with this skill. His brother Daniel has performed in 'Homicide: Life on the Street, his brother William acted in the film 'Backdraft', and Stephen was in 'The Usual Suspects'.

From the time when Baldwin completed his drama studies he carried a multi-dimensional drama career. He performed well on big screen, on silver screen and on stage. He regularized his time and strength on every front of the acting career.
He began his acting journey from a TV series, with a first major role in 'The Doctors’. After that, his role in 'Knot’s landing' proved to be huge success and opened the golden gate for him. Following this, he remained and acted extensively on television screen for couple of years.

His first big screen appearance was in the movie 'She’s Having a Baby’; he got a minor role in this picture. He performed in 'Beetle juice' and 'Working Girl' as major roles. Both of the movies turned out a real success for him and showed him the gateway to film industry.

After that, he was offered a role in ‘The Hunt for Red October', which was the best-seller of its time. It earned over $100 million and it was hit. Unfortunately he was not called to continue his role in the subsequent part of the movie, instead Harrison Ford was called for the role which he had. This dismissal did not harm his career much. He played leading roles in 'Glengarry Glen Ross' alongside Jack Lemmon and Al Pacino and performed in a lead role in a comedy 'The Marrying Man'. He also got the lead role in the movie 'The Getaway' which was a remake. He starred opposite his wife Kim Basinger, whom he met in the movie 'The Marrying Man. He has also starred opposite Demi Moore in few movies. Baldwin is also famed for having hosted live show 'Saturday Night Live’.

His role in The Cooler was appreciated a lot which also beg him an Oscar nomination. He has been paired with Leonardo di Caprio in two very famous movies 'The Departed' and 'The Aviator'. Baldwin rejoined the television and starred in a sitcom '30 Rock'. This was indeed a great piece and he got many awards for this program. He was awarded a Golden Globe Award for his role in 30 Rock. He also has received Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor and an Emmy Award. He has also performed through his voice, in the animated movie 'Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa’.

Apart from his professional life, his personal life was always in trouble. He is famous for his outrageous outburst and short temperament.  His marriage to Kim ended in 2000. He is enjoying his time with his daughter, Ireland.
