Casey Affleck is an American film actor and director. He is credited with playing supporting roles in very major hits in his career. He is also famous also because of his brother Ben Affleck, although he doesn’t look like his elder brother.

Casey Affleck was born in Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA to Jewish parents on August 12, 1975. His complete name is Caleb Casey McGuire Affleck-Boldt. His father is Timothy Affleck and Mother is Chris Affleck. He has one, three year elder brother, Ben Affleck who is also an actor and director. Casey married his girl friend of six years, Summer Phoenix in 2006, who is the sister of Joaquin Phoenix another famous actor. The couple has two sons Indiana August and Atticus.

From time to time he worked on television during his high school period. He attended George Washington University and Columbia University. Casey started his voyage to Hollywood in a film To Die For in 1995, also starring Joaquin phoenix and Nicole Kidman. After that, he showed up in two movies Chasing Amy and Good Will Hunting in which his brother, Ben also acted. In Chasing Amy his role was a blink, but Good Will Hunting provided him a major supporting role and it proved a success as well. Both brothers have worked together professionally and Casey became known as the younger brother of Ben.

In his professional career, Casey received many acknowledgements from the critics for his performance in Gone Baby Gone and Robert Ford’s the Assassination of Jesse James for which he also got nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor. His performance opposite to Brad Pitt received a great applaud and appreciation. It also beg him a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actor in motion picture.
Casey has few failures at his side as well including Desert Blue, Soul Survivors, and Drowning Mona. The Oceans series highlighted his skills. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Casey became a part of a very strong cast of the Ocean’s Eleven which included George Clooney and Brad Pitt. He maintained his role in the ocean trilogy, appearing in the two sequels, oceans’ twelve and oceans’ thirteen.

Casey Affleck co-wrote the script for film Gerry with Gus Van Sant and Matt Damon. This flick got mix reviews and it was released limitedly in America.

Casey Affleck united with Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson in “The Killer inside Me” released in 2010. This movie portrayed Affleck as serial killer and he was praised for his great acting skills in the movie, but overall the movie failed to impress the critics. The basic reason for the collapse of the movie was that it reflected and showed violence against women, which particularly went against this movie.

Affleck is programmed to play the main role in the forthcoming venture by Ridley Scott “The Kind One” planned to be released in 2012.
