That’s not enough, Vanity Fair nominated him as the Most Handsome Man in the World. He is a Mexican actor, besides he has also been involved in direction and production. Bernal has a command on languages, including English, Italian, Spanish and French. He has a girlfriend, actress Dolores Fonzi, whom he has two kids, One son Lázaro and a daughter Libertad.

November 30, 1978, Gael Garcia Bernal was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was born to already prominent artist parents. His father was also a director and his mother was an actress and a model. He was very young when he began acting. During his teens, he performed in some soap operas and soon he rose to the heights of becoming a teen celebrity. The striking talent of the young star gave him fame in Mexico. Serials including, Teresa and El Abuelo Y Yo were huge success in his native country. In the series, El Abuelo Y Yo, he co-starred with his fellow-country star Diego Luna.

After having much experience in several dramas, he planned and went to London to study drama. He went on studying acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama. During his stay over there, he was casted in the movie Amores Perros (famous worldwide as Love's a Bitch), which was the first feature movie he ever did. It was incredibly acclaimed and it was a huge success and it earned him many awards and nomination, including a nominated for an Academy Award, it won the BAFTA for Best Foreign Language Film, a Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival and a Silver Ariel Award in Mexico.

After the recognition of his work, he starred in Y Tu Mama Tambien was also a box office hit and marked his place in the industry. This movie also become very popular and increased the fame of Bernal. He co-starred with his friend Diego Luna in the movie. He won the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the Venice Film Festival for his performance.

He then chose to work in a Mexican film, El crimen Del padre Amaro. He was casted in the lead role of the movie. This movie was a huge success, earning him a nomination for Golden Globe and an Academy Award for a Best Foreign Language Film. Moving ahead with his acting career, he starred in The Motorcycle Diaries.
Besides acting, he has put his feet in direction and production as well. He has directed Deficit and produces a much recognized film, Sin Nombre. He has proved himself as a very talented artist and he is there to experiment his capabilities.

Bernal had his first English-language movie, The King.  He also starred in the Science of Sleep.He also performed in Babel. This movie is also starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. Babel earned many nominations for several awards. He won great compliments globally for his performance. After that, Blindness and Letters to Juliet also went successful.
