IFFI \'09 to host Indian Animation with TASI

The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) and The Animation Society of India (TASI) have joined forces this year to bring film enthusiasts the best of Indian Animation at the 40th International Film Festival of India - Goa 2009 from 23rd November to 3rd December 2009.
It is also the first time that IFFI-Goa has dedicated an entire section to animation. The festival program is divided into 4 categories: Film Programs, Non Film Programs, Film Bazaar and Short Film Center & Cultural Activities. The Short Film Centre in particular, is a platform which serves the interests of film producers, actors and cinematographers, sound recording artists, funding agencies, film festival programmers and enthusiasts at the event.
TASI will be screening a "Retrospective on Indian Animation" - a compilation of nearly 50 films that have been produced in India; along with a host of special programs designed to give the audience at IFFI a complete and comprehensive understanding about the art of animation and where the Industry is headed in time to come.
Team TASI has also chosen a panel of experts to speak on various different aspects of animation. Here is a tentative list of the sessions planned: Indian Animation Retrospective - Then and Now; Contemporary short films; animated feature films; The Art of Voicing; and a Pixillation workshop to be conducted at IFFI Goa 2009.
The CEO, Entertainment Society of Goa Manoj Srivatava said, "Indian Animation has immense potential, commercial as well as artistic. Platforms like IFFI are the right spaces for demonstration of our talent, capability and expertise. With this in mind, the Entertainment Society of Goa chose to partner with TASI and present the best of Indian Animation during the 40th edition of the International Film Festival of India in Goa at the SHORT FILM CENTER."
