Recently we reported much news about smoking scenes for various movies. Recent development by the government on this issue is that the smoking scenes will be permitted in movies but one of the actors would need to give a warning to viewers on screen saying 'Smoking Kills’.
Justice P. Sathasivam and Justice Ranjan Gogoi from the Supreme Court Bench ruled out that movies would be permitted to screen smoking scenes but warning message should be given by one of the actors of the movie within the scene. These movies will also have a warning message at the beginning, in the middle and after the interval in the movie. Also there will be a static message displayed during the smoking scene in the movie.
This notification will replace the earlier orders issued regarding smoking scenes and would be in action from September 14th.
