Standing ovation for Mira Nair film at the Venice Film Festival!

Mira Nair came across the most wonderful moment of her moviemaking career earlier this month at the Venice Film Festival. Mira while talking about this experience said that 'I was overwhelmed to have heard this compliment from Teresa Ricci, wife of Gillo Pontecorvo whom I really admire for his movie The Battle Of Algiers (one of my all time favorites) as she said 'My husband's soul lives in your film’.

This is the biggest compliment she ever received. She further revealed that there were three screenings of her movie at the festival attended by 1100 people each. She said that one of the screenings received 12 minute standing ovation and people just clapped and clasped. She said that she has never received this kind of ovation in her life.
