Rules of on--screen smoking modified by Health Ministry!
The on-screen smoking has been in news and there is a tussle going on between moviemakers and the Censor Board of Film Certification regarding this issue. The latest report on this issue is that all the rules that were issued last year regarding on-screen smoking have been diluted and a new notification is issued this Friday on September 21st by the Indian government.

The new notification by the health ministry is that all the cinema halls need to show anti-tobacco health spot of at least 30 seconds both at the beginning and in the middle of the movie. These health spots will be made available to them by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The requirement of actors in the movie to say an anti-smoking disclaimer is now no more applicable which would surely make filmmakers quite happy.
