Bhangra pop singer Honey Singh is one of the most popular live entertainers of India. He claims to have become victim of cruel smear campaign against him by his professional rivals. He says that this campaign is launched to finish off his career by his rivals in the industry.
Just some hours before New Year on Monday, Honey was shaken by the news that he has been targeted for his song specially the title track 'Main Hoon Ek Balaatkari' that has been alleged to be anti-woman. This title track along with the message has offended the entire nation who is quite aggressive and is mourning on the terrible gang rape case of girl in Delhi last week.
An active ad powerful campaign has been launched to boycott this pop star for his track launched. This campaign is running over different networking websites and an FIR is also lodged against him for obscenity in Lucknow.
There was intense pressure because of which his concert in Gurgaon on New Year’s Eve was cancelled.
Honey Singh now fears his life and he claimed that this song doesn’t belong to him. While talking about this track he says ‘I swear that I haven’t written nor have sung this song in support of rape. I would rather give up music than to earn fame through this disgusting thought. I swear on my singing that I am not part of this cheap thing.’
Honey Singh says that he himself is suffering from this fraud. ‘I belong to a respectful family where woman are held in great respect and thus this is quite shocking for me. Such a song could never be mine and I have sent notices to all the websites including Youtube for uploading this offensive number by an imposter.’
He says that both the obscene songs playing on the internet in my name are not at all mine. He completely disowns these tracks and he has no link with these tracks. He claims ‘This is an act of violating human dignity and my lawyers are trying to make out who has done this to target my popularity.’
He says that this is surely an act by my jealous rivals as no one could see a Hoshiarpur villager to gain such fame and success. He says that all his fans know that he could never do an act of disrespect to women as my brought up has taught me to treat women with respect. He claims to have been targeted for wrong acts that he hasn’t committed.
Honey said that he has been targeted to divert the attention of whole nation from actual issue of gang rape crime that the country is reeling under. ‘I would request people to stop diverting the attention of nation from what the actual issue is to my music. If anyone could prove that those obscene songs belong to me, I am ready to give up music.’
Sources close to him reveal that he has been receiving threats and is under vigilance of personal security now.
He belongs to a business family and his father wanted him to become a musician, reveals Honey. He says that he would never want to earn success through such controversies and shameful acts. ‘I have earned my success through sincere hard work always.’
He says that his rivals are exploiting out of jealousy but his fans are with him and they believe in him. He says that other singers are trying to achieve the fame and success he has and thus they are not pleased with his success. They are asking to ban me in panel discussions on TV. But all that matters to him are his fans and their belief in him.
