R. Balki's previous two projects with Big B were quite innovative that broke the path and were successful as well including Cheeni Kum and Paa. Now he is planning another movie with Big B and both the filmmaker and star were thinking to have their third project together as innovative and distinguished as previous two.
After dealing with several different thoughts, both ended up in feeling the need of an intense love story at this point in Big B's career. Source close to the industry reveal that Balki and Big B together will be joining hands for third project which was reported to be a love story. This need was felt as the last truly intense love story by Amitabh Bachchan was Silsila of Yash Chopra.
Balki already had begun with scripting of this movie which will be love story of an aging couple and he wished to cast Sridevi opposite Big Bachchan. But this idea was no more unique with Big B featuring in a love story by Sudhir Mishra titled Mehrunissa starting this year.
Now Balki has gone back and will be re-writing the script completely to make it as unique as his previous two offerings with Big B. Thus this project would now begin by the end of 2013. Balki confirmed this news saying ‘My script would take that much time as we wish to exceed expectations created after Cheeni Kum and Paa. We would be doing a project never done before and thus it would begin by year end.'
