Dhillin Mehta who is heading the Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd was arrested at the international airport against a case for nonpayment of dues and was whisked away to Jaipur on Wednesday night. This name belongs to producers of famous movies including Jab We Met, Golmaal series and others.
Dhillin’s flight was scheduled to board for Dubai but few hours before boarding he was arrested by Rajasthan police. There was a notice issued against him some days ago for nonpayment of dues of Rs. 1.58 crores to a producer based in Jaipur Surender Kalra for their in progress movie titled Sher.
He was stopped at the immigration counter by the police and was flown to Jaipur next morning. He was formally arrested at the Jalupura police station. Before he could be presented in court, director of this company paid Rs. 40 lakh in cash and cheques of Rs. 80 lakh to Surender Kalra.
After making these payments and signing an undertaking of making outstanding payment, he was granted bail from magistrate court. His passport was however seized.
