Famous Bollywood lyricist Gulzar along with director Vishal Bhardwaj were in Pakistan for a festival on literature. They also were there for recording of a song but this visit in the neighboring country was cut short because of ill health condition of Gulzar saab.
It is reported that Gulzar visited his mentor’s grave in Pakistan and his birth place after which a decline was observed in his health.
Vishal confirming this news says ‘We were there to record a song for Dedh Ishqia and everything was fine. When Gulzar saab visited the grave of his mentor Ahmed Nadeem Qasimi and his birth place Dina after 70 years, he was emotionally overwhelmed. He was also stressed and when reached hotel he felt sick. Thus we decided to cut this visit short and moved back to India. We will be going back to Pakistan for recording again as soon as he feels better.’
A letter was sent by Gulzar for organizer of Karachi Literature Festival Ameena Saiyid where he explained his returning back home.
