Sanjay Dutt’s role of a cop in Zila Ghaziabad was not well received by critics in Mumbai but this movie received good reviews in Bihar and UP. Sanjay really loved playing this character of real life unconventional cop.
A movie is now to be produced by Sanjay himself where he will be playing the role of a real life cop of Ghaziabad. This movie is titled Pritam and story is written by the same writer Vinay Sharma. Also there is buzz that the producer of Zila Ghaziabad, Vinod Bachchan has also planned a sequel for this movie.
This news was confirmed by Vinay saying ‘Sanjay Dutt wishes to carry forward this character of Pritam Singh and thus he will be playing same character in a movie he is producing titled Pritam. Script of this movie is already written.’
Sharma reveals some details about this character saying ‘Pritam Singh was the cop from Ghaziabad who was summoned to eliminate the war between two powerful gangs of the city. Criminal Satbir Gujjar played by Vivek Oberoi was used by him as his right hand. He wore khaki uniform to eliminate criminals.’
Vinay says that his original script was quite powerful but some things went wrong and many prominent scenes were not shot with Sanjay. He claims that not even 40% of his script was shot for this movie and thus this sequel is now planned to bring this character forward. He says that there is only this cop-hero featured again with Sanjay’s home production and the script of this movie is entirely different plot.
