Director Gurinder Chadha of The Bend It Like Beckham fame is in New Delhi these days. She is there on a clandestine trip where she will be researching about her next project. This project is based on days before partition in 1947.
Cast of this movie is yet to be finalized however there is buzz that the main role of Jawaharlal Nehru will be played by Saif Ali Khan. The central character of this movie is Lord Mountbatten.
Last week Gurinder visited Rashtrapati Bhavan and she becomes the first one to get a complete view of this place. She was also invited by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife to visit their home.
A friend close to her says ‘Gurinder’s movie would require her to recreate the entire Rashtrapati Bhavan and a lot of this movie would be shot within this premise. As she could not shoot inside real Rashtrapati Bhavan and thus she got invitation from Prime Minister and his wife to visit the interiors of this place to get complete details. Gurinder is friend to Gursharan Kaur (Prime Minister’s wife).
Her movie would be having a number of Punjabi dialogues and songs. Later this week she will also meet Punjabi famous singer Rabbi Gill.
