You might feel the movie to be inspired by the Hollywood movie WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS and the Mexican movie RECIEN CAZADO but this is quite different and there is no link or association to these movies of EK MAIN AUR EKK TU.The story belongs to the present day generation. The story is of a guy and a girl.The guy happens to be living in his parent's world and is dependent on them for every decision he makes, thus he is not a man of his own will but is living the life as his parents like him to.Then suddenly a girl comes in his life and makes him realize that he is missing all the fun of life. The movie is directed by Shakun Batra who is a first time directory. He has narrated the story brilliantly and has captured the moments in the most absolute manner to suit the script.The story is quite straight forward and is not at all stretched out.The director has shown that he likes working to the point without adding in irrelevant drama and scenes in to the movie to make it prolonged.This has worked out really well for him. The script and the plots are quite interesting and will surely be able to win audience's attention till the end. The story is about a guy Rahul played by Imran Khan who is living his life on the basis of decisions made by his parents for him. He wishes to be exactly like his parents played by Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak.He was working as an architect in Vegas but one fine day suddenly he lost his job and then without telling his parents about it he tries to find another job. By fate he met Riana played by Kareena Kapoor who is a hair stylist by profession and is quite smart. they eventually meet on Christmas Eve and decides on having some drinks together. The plan eventually fails and they end up being drunk. The next morning they wake up to discover that they have got married. Now Rahul finds himself in big trouble. He was hiding his joblessness from his parents and now he has to hide his marriage as well. Both of them decides upon getting off with this marriage thing and finally get an appointment from court of 10 days later.For the next then days they share lots of things with each other and happen to become friends. The story then moves with some questions that will these friends ever be able to become lovers and would Rahul be able to accept this truth in front of his parents.This romantic comedy is narrated in a quite different manner than what we have witnessed in the past in our industry.The technique used seems a little similar in what was used in JAB WE MET but there are different slice of actions in to it.The writers Ayesha Devitre and Shakun Batra have done an impressive job with very less drama and the story narrated with the correct spices.Everything however with the movie is quite original and wouldn't look a remake or something seen before. The characters of the movie are well explained in the beginning by the director Shakun Batra and then the rest of the journey revolves around Imran and Kareena which would keep you engaged till the end. The first half of the movie has some of the most splendid moments of the couple.Then in the second half the story shifts to Mumbai city where the most amusing and entertaining was the entire scene at Kareena's place and the situational song ‘Auntyji' goes well with the pace. The conclusion is also not predictable and thus will capture your attention.These are the places where the writer and director need great appreciation.The screenplay of the movie is exclusively marvelous job done. No doubt that you wouldn't have witnessed such work in the past. Amit Trivedi the music composer has added beauty to the movie with his songs.The title track is wonderful and the other songs like 'Auntyji' and 'Gubbare' will also be able to remain in your memory.Cinematography is superb with beautiful locales of Las Vegas making it more amazingly beautiful. The selection of the main leads is undoubted however for the first time on screen but is a perfect combination and there could not be any better execution.They have given a magnificent performance on the screen together. Kareena's character however resembles the one she performed in JAB WE MET but it is on urban scale this time. She plays the character of a free spirit fast paced smart urban girl and she without any doubts have performed extraordinary with ease and perfection. Imran Khan also is perfect for the role and Imran has managed to deliver a delightful performance completely overdone his role in the movie. The character played by him however was not as lively as Kareena's but he has performed wonderfully well. His performance over the dinner table is marvelous. Other supporting characters that have depicted a flawless and just the perfect performance include Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah. Ram Kapoor was wonderful and the actor playing Kareena's father also perfectly portrayed. Sonia Mehra is seen in a cameo role and seems quite energetic. Overall the movie EK MAIN AUR EKK TU is a first rate entertainer targeting the youth audiences as well as would attract old ones too. This romantic comedy has all the potentials to become a blockbuster on the Bollywood boxoffice this year and is a perfect movie made for the occasion of Valentine's Day. What more could be expect to see with a perfect blend of love, romance, friendship, comedy and drama.The movie has moments that would make you smile and this movie must be watched this weekend on Valentines.
