We have earlier seen movies with Rama, Hanuman, Ganesha and Arjun. This time the Indian animation industry have created a movie with Krishna. These stories are well known and told but we haven't seen the folklore of Krishna and Kans with animation on big screen.
This animated movie Krishna and Kans tells us the story of early years of Krishna beginning from his birth till he kills down the baddie Kans which depicts the victory of good over bad. Krishna is well liked and admired by people of all age group. This warrior is friend to children and adults who saves good from evil. He is an appealing prankster as well as a loving son and friend.
This movie KRISHNA AUR KANS is made with beautiful images. As all of us are aware of the story thus one goes to watch the pleasure in storytelling. The narrated story however unfolds with lack of drama and screenplay. This story starts really well but the later part pleasure of watching on screen is missing. The movie made over 2 hours lack interest however it could have created interest if it would have been a short 90 minutes movie. The makes may have included some songs as well to create fascination.
Another lacking here is the language spoken which is shudh Hindi quite complicated for its target audiences who are kids. At some points it is even quite difficult to make out for adults with usage of difficult words. Animation is wonderful but there is certainly no need of it for 3D.
The voice given to on-screen animated characters by actors is quite effective. Om Puri's voice for Kans sounds perfect and most appropriate.
Juhi Chawla's voice for Mother Yashoda and Prachi Save for Krishna are effective.
There are many other prominent actors who have given their voice for this epic.
Overall this movie KRISHNA AUR KANS could have been more attractive but it happens to be an okay to watch one here!
